This text has been taken from a letter written by our late Hon. General Secretary of the Amateur Wrestling Association of Sri Lanka in 1978, for the 40^th Anniversary of our Association by Hon. M. A .Anthony Gorgonis. He was a respected and beloved wrestler, coach and then bearer of office who did a great service to this sport and made contribution on behalf of the sport. This is in honour of his memory and to thank him the knowledge that he has bestowed on us about our past from 1938-1978. The events after this time period be updated on our website soon.
